Swedish Massage Therapy
The modality that comes to mind when most people think about massage. As the best-known type of bodywork performed today, one of the primary goals of the Swedish massage technique is to relax the entire body. Our Swedish relaxation massage is the classic stress-relieving, medium pressure technique massage that uses varied strokes of gliding and kneading to promote circulation and an overall sense of well-being. It is exceptionally beneficial for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, decreasing muscle toxins, improving circulation and flexibility while easing tension.
A natural therapy that induces deep relaxation and reduces bodily tension, which in turn improves health and vitality. Reflexology techniques are applied to the hands and feet where reflexes that correlate with the entire body are found. Reflexology is believed to work though the nervous, electrical, magnetic and chemical systems of the body. Reflexology promotes balance in the body, mind and spirit.
Sports Massage Therapy
Sports massage is geared toward athletes of every kind, from world-class professionals to the weekend golfers and tennis players. The particulars of the sports massage technique are specific to the athlete’s sport of choice. It focuses on areas of the body that are overused and stressed from repetitive and often aggressive movements. Sports massage therapy can be used as a means to enhance pre-event preparation and reduce recovery time for maximum performance during training or after an event. Athletes have discovered that specially designed sports massage promotes flexibility, reduces fatigue, improves endurance, helps prevent injuries, prepares body and mind for optimal performance.
Senior Massage Therapy
Designed to address the specific needs of the elderly population. This type of massage for the elderly uses gentle and light application of massage techniques and can include passive stretching and a light oil or lotion to permit muscles to be worked on without causing excessive friction to the skin. These techniques can help enhance blood circulation, combat depression, improve balance and flexibility, reduce the pain of arthritis, increase joint mobility, improve posture, and encourage overall well-being.
An ancient healing art using the fingers to gradually press key healing points, which stimulate the body’s natural self-curative abilities. Acupressure was developed in Asia over 5,000 years ago. Using the power and sensitivity of the hand, Acupressure Therapy is effective in the relief of stress-related ailments, and is ideal for self-treatment and preventive health care for boosting the immune system. Acupressure releases tension, increases circulation, reduces pain, and develops spirituality and vibrant health.
Medical Massage-Injury Specific
After reviewing the referral (prescription) form from your doctor, we take the time to do an evaluation of your condition and symptoms. We then develop a treatment plan, which often involves a series of treatments to help you get well. We follow the doctor’s recommendations for areas to be treated, time per session and number of sessions. Advanced manual therapy techniques are used. Documented notes are taken after each session, and we follow-up with your doctor on how you are doing. All Massage therapy appointments are provided by a professionally trained Arizona State Licensed Massage Therapist (also known as LMT).
Set-up and break-down time takes additional time, so plan for additional 30+minutes of time of arrival to departure for set up and break down, no additional charge under most circumstances. Once the massage is started the amount of time booked is started, if you need to pause the massage for any reason the time is taken away from the massage. Time can almost always be added for an additional fee.
Also known as craniosacral therapy, this is a gentle, noninvasive form of bodywork that addresses the bones of the head, spinal column and sacrum. The goal is to release compression in those areas which alleviates stress and pain. Cranial sacral therapy seeks to restore the natural position of the bones and can decrease stress from chronic injuries as well as provide relief from migraine headaches, neck and back pain, temporomandibular joint disorder (the inflammation of the joint that connects the lower jaw to the skull) and more.
Trigger Point Therapy
is specifically designed to alleviate the source of the pain through cycles of isolated pressure and release. In this type of massage for trigger point therapy, the recipient actively participates through deep breathing as well as identifying the exact location and intensityof the discomfort.
Deep Tissue Therapy
Similar to Swedish massage, but with deeper pressure - beneficial in releasing chronic muscle tension. The focus is on the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons and fascia (the protective layer surrounding muscles, bones and joints).
